Alexandra
Kosteniuk is a Russian chess Grandmaster with a FIDE rating of 2523, presently
ranked eighth in the women chess world (according to April 2008 FIDE rating
list). Her most notable chess achievements include: winning the Women's European
Chess Championship in 2004, winning the Russian Women's Championship with 9/11
score and a performance rating of 2691 in 2005, winning the first Chess960
(Fischer Random Chess) women world championship beating Germany's top women
chess player Elisabeth Pahtz in 2006.
Kosteniuk has been promoting chess in the capacity of a fashion model and
ambassador of chess in order to spark interest in the game around the world.
Apart from chess, she is actively involved with writing poems, books and
articles. She loves to do fashion modelling and even has played a part in a
movie, which she considers the most fun thing she has ever done in her life.

Tathagat Avatar
Tulsi is a scientist and is most well known as a child prodigy. He is a Guinness
World Record holder. He has the special distinction of being one of the world's
youngest scientists. At the age of 17, he wrote a research paper that brought
him an invitation by Bell Labs of United States. Recently his story was
showcased by National Geographic Channel in the program My Brilliant Brain (by
Susan Polgar).
In this interview with Tathagat Avatar Tulsi, he shares his secrets of success.
He talks about educational system, his future plans, his interest in chess,
chess and mathematics, genetics and many other interesting topics. According to
him Chess helps significantly in improving concentration and in brain training. We

Grandmaster Koneru Humpy holds the
record for the youngest woman ever to become a Grandmaster, she achieved the GM
title when she was 15 years, beating Judit Polgar's previous record by 3 months!
She crossed 2600 ELO rating in October 2007 FIDE rating list, presently she is
at number two in the world for women (behind Judit Polgar), breaking the record
of 2577 set by Susan Polgar for the second highest ranked female player in Chess
history.

interviewed the former world chess champion, Garry Kasparov. It is comparatively easy to catch the president of the country and schedule an interview with him
but It is very difficult to get Kasparov's interview. DNA is the only news portal from India who conducted his interview successfully.
Kasparov announced his retirement from professional chess in 2005, he instead chose to devote his time to politics and writing. He formed the United Civil
Front and joined as a member of The Other Russia, a coalition opposing the elected government of Vladimir Putin. Kasparov's ratings achievements include being FIDE rated world no. 1 player and still holding the all time highest rating of 2851. He also holds records for consecutive tournament victories and Chess Oscars. Since his retirement from chess, Kasparov has avoided speaking about the game. Former World Junior Champion and Grandmaster P Harikrishna rose to fame in chess
when he won the World Under E0 chess championship in 1996. In the years that
followed Harikrishna won many prestigious tournaments including the Commonwealth
championship. In 2001 Harikrishna became the youngest Grandmaster in India and
since then the growth of the Hyderabad based has been exemplary. Harikrishna was
recently nominated for the Arjuna Award and on Wednesday he finished joint first
in the Marx Gyorgy Memorial tournament at Paks in Hungary. In this interview he

Grandmaster Nigel Short is widely
regarded as one of the strongest British chess players. He became a Grandmaster
at age 19, the youngest in the world at that time. In 1979. He challenged for
the World Championship against Garry Kasparov at London 1993. Along with his
playing activities, Short is a noted chess writer. He has written columns and
book reviews for many British newspapers. He has coached young prodigies like
Pentala Harikrishna, Sergey Karjakin, David Howell and Parimarjan Negi. His
first team assignment, with the Islamic Republic of Iran, led to them
unexpectedly taking bronze medal at the Asian Games.

Viswanathan Anand is an Indian chess grandmaster and former FIDE world champion. Anand is one of only four players in history to break the 2800 ELO mark in the FIDE rating list. He has been among the top three ranked players in classical time control chess in the world continuously since 1997. In the recently release April 2007 FIDE rating list, Anand is ranked first in the world for the first time. He is only the sixth person to lead the rating list, the other five being Fischer, Karpov, Kasparov, Kramnik and Topalov.
